There doesn't, at present, appear to be any prior reputation requirement to get these work order quests, but you do have to have bought your farm in order to receive the work orders, so a considerable dose of Tillers work is required.Įdit: A blue post has clarified that you no longer have to buy the farm to receive and complete work orders, but you will need to be exalted with the Tillers and have all plots unlocked. It's no great surprise that the new factions aren't included in these work orders, to be able to earn reputation for the new factions by farming would be rather strange when they have only just appeared. Wowhead has datamined many of the quests, indicating that, for now at least, they are available purely for factions added in patch 5.0.4 and patch 5.1. You can see Matticus' character here being offered several work orders from other factions. Right now it seems like these factions have taken over our farms (unless we forego the rep quests entirely.Work orders are in in the patch 5.2 PTR, allowing players to gain reputation with other factions by farming.
If we're willing to put in the "work" for the produce we get, isn't it at least fair to give us a little land to work with? Or, if the purpose is to keep us from getting all three rep in one day it could still be shortened to 6 plants, which would still give us 4 plots for personal use. It's already inconvenient to have to wait a day for harvest, then dealing with all the annoyances at harvest time with virmin, weeds, etc. In my opinion, this isn't asking for a handout or easy mode. It's a nightmare for anyone leveling the top end of cooking and trying to get rep at the same time. With the cost of produce on most servers and some recipes requiring 25x veggies/berries, each higher level recipe can cost over 100g on the AH. If they'd just shorten it to 4 crops a day we could do Golden Lotus, August Celestials, and Shado-Pan all in the same day and still have 4 plots for the crops we need for cooking.
